Embroidery Hoop Art

Hi! At the moment I love to do embroidery, its a great way to relax and to be creative, offline. The embroidery in the hoop being art that is actually worth hanging is great to begin with when you are new to the craft. In this post I'll show you how to make a very easy piece and give you some inspiration for other pieces. Have fun!

DIY

What you will need:
  • embroidery hoop
  • embroidery garn
  • needles
  • pen
  • fabric
How to proceed:
  1. Tighten the fabric into the hoop.
  2. Draw the lines for later orientation
  3. Choose the blue color you want to start off with, thread the garn into the needle.
  4. Now stitch from one line to the parallel other. Try to embroider diagonal.
  5. With every other "section" change the color. The cloud white, the sky the lightest blue, the blue tone continues down the waves like an ombre.
  6. Finito!

Århus

Hi! This year Århus, Denmark, is the cultural capital of Europe. As the city is a second home for me, I felt the need to inform you guys what you can do in this lovely city! The university town has a great repertory for cultural experiences, and they have workspaces for creatives. For example the so called Godsbane where you can for example practice every handicraft you want, laser cut, ceramics, textile print, woodworking and soldering, with experts to help you. Also there are workshops, ateliers for rent, concert halls, a cafeteria, e.g. and it all is really affordable.
Shopping is a dream as like the food. You shouldn't miss a good old danish ice cream at the waterfront, where you can take a boat out or go stand up paddling in summer. The relatively warm water from the Baltic See makes it possible to go for a swim all year around (a winter swim should be very good for the immune system) and the white beaches are widespread and natural. Århus has woods like Rigskov and Moesgaard, the latter is where the celebrated museum Moesgaard Museum is, a park with forest animals (e.g. deers, boars) or the yearly viking festival.
