Is your home cosy?

Hi! To achieve a cosiness in you home, arrangements with fur are definitely going to help. Also by using darker colors, the extreme is e.g. black, will help creating the effect. Here are two examples from different homes. To see the whole home tours go on the links below!

Stool Make Over

Hi! My childhood contained a lot of moving around, from South Africa, to Germany, to the US and back to Germany. But I always had my constant home in Denmark, where we have a vacation house. There was always this stool, which I love.
Now the stool is in my room, here in Hamburg and to fit more into my room, it had to go through a make over... I chose to change the color from blue to light rose. I chose this color because it is the color from something you put on your ice cream traditionally in Denmark, called "Guf".
The make over made the stool more personally for me and has become even more the symbol for summer in Denmark!

What you will need:

  • color for tree
  • brush
  • sand paper
  • (sand paper machine)
How to proceed:
  1. Sand the stool, so that almost all the old color is gone.
  2. Clean the stool and let it dry.
  3. Paint the part of the stool you would like to be painted.
  4. Let it dry and proceed with another layer of paint.
  5. Let it dry two days.

Hi! As the moon changes his form, it changes ours... Lets hang that on the wall!

What you will need:

  • plasticine in for example black and white
  • something round you can cut out with (like e.g. a jam jar lid)
  • baking paper

How to proceed:
  1. Roll out the baking paper.
  2. Take a large portion of the light color of plasticine and add some small pieces of the dark one.
  3. Knead together.
  4. Now roll out.
  5. Cut the clay out, into the wished form.
  6. Carve two holes into the moon.
  7. Follow the instructions of your plasticine.
  8. Thread a cord through the holes.
  9. Move the different moons on their place.
  10. To fixate, make some knots into the cord where needed.

Pearls and Sequins

Hi! Pearls and sequins are pretty much something every girl loves and wants. This year designers like Valentino or Marc Jacobs show us the colorful parade of how to make them even more beautiful and interesting, definitely more wanted then ever before.
The pearl is a symbol of purity, harmony and humility. I guess those are all features we want to have and for which we strive... So, why not begin by pepping up the closet?

Mormors Apple Crumble

Hi! So this post will show you how to make a super easy crumble (no idea what to call this, is it cake?!). You can make it with all sorts of fruits, I guess... I only know the crumble with apple or plum, if you know any other fruits to make this crumble with, comment down below!
This recipe is from my grandma (Mormor is the danish translation), so tak Mormor for this delicious treat.

What you will need:

  • Crumble:
    • 200g flour
    • 200g butter
    • 200g sugar
  • ca. 500g Apples

How to proceed:
  1. Cut the butter in pieces and crumble it together with the flour with your hands.
  2. Add the sugar and crumble again.
  3. Fill the apples in to the greased pan.
  4. Take the dough and let it crumble on to the apples.
  5. Put it into the pre-heated oven for 20-30 min at 200°C.
  6. Let it cool a bit off and then serve for example with vanilla ice cream or crème fraîche.
